Child right bodies show concern over India’s Global Hunger Index rank

Recently, Child right bodies have expressed concern over India’s 102nd ranking in the Global Hunger Index. According to a media report, Save the child, the child body right stated that in the country, the number of children is undernourished and that’s reflecting in the national survey. Child Rights and You (cry), said that the children's budget has been declined from the last 2-3 years. In Global Hungry Index 2019, India ranked 102 out of 117 countries while in 2018, it was ranked 103 out of 119 countries, and 83 out of 113 countries in 2000. Govt invites startups to give an alternative solution to use a single plastic

Recently, the government has come up with an initiative ‘Single-Use Plastic International Grand Challenge’ where the particIpants have to present an alternative solution to single-use plastic. The challenge is open to all startups, and the product should at least be in any of the following stages: minimum viable product, proof of concept or a deployed solution that requires further scaling up. The winner of this competition would be awarded a cash prize of INR 3 lakh. Earlier, the industry ministry asked e-commerce firms to stop using plastics for product packaging. Heavy rains lash in Kerala, Orange alert in 12 districts; five by-poll seats vote today

Many parts of Kerala are drowned due to heavy rains and the state is conducting a five by-poll election today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in 12 districts. According to a media report, State Chief Electoral officer Tikaram Meena stated that they have monitored the situation and 12 polling station were shifted in Ernakulam. Train services were shut after tracks were submerged at Ernakulam railway station. Five By-elections are being held in Vattiyoorkavu assembly constituency in Thiruvananthapuram, Konni in Pathanamthitta, Aroor in Alapuzha, Ernakulam and Manjeshwar in Kasaragod. Indian pilgrim Kartarpur corridor registration stalled, pact still not inked

For every Indian pilgrim visiting Darbar Sahib gurdwara in Pakistan’s Kartarpur will be charged with $ 20 service fee, with which India has major misgivings as it was not cleared when the pact was signed. India and Pakistan have agreed that the pilgrims will not need visas to use the corridor. the Indian side of the Kartarpur corridor will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on November 8th, while the Pakistan side is said to be inaugurated on November 9th by Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
