Urmila Matondkar lodges complaint with EC over mismatch in signatures on EVM forms

Actress turned Politician Urmila Matondkar filed a complaint with Election Commission over discrepancies in signatures and number on the forms of EVMs. Matondkar's complaint read, ”On the form of EVM 17C form Magathane, the signatures and the machine numbers are different. A complaint has been filed with the EC”.

The Congress candidate Urmila Matondkar spoke to media about the celebrity factor and her plans for the constituency if she wins. She said "I am glad that I have got such an important constituency as there are many issues here that are hitting people hard. She added, "The movie made on his life is a joke on the democracy, poverty and diversity of India, which has damaged". She further quipped "Rather, a comedy film should be made on him and his unfulfilled promises".

Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar approached police for protection after a clash between Congress and BJP supporters during her poll campaign in North Mumbai. Matondkar said that she has lodged the police complaint about her safety and was shocked by the "blatant violation" of model code of conduct by the workers of the ruling party and blamed the BJP for "creating fear". She further added that "Those who confronted our rally indulged in vulgar dancing and used abusive language. Maybe they wanted to scare the women who were walking near us".
