82% percent students have registered for winter semester, says JNU V-C Jagadesh Kumar

JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar informed that over 80 percent of students have registered for the winter semester. He further said that out of 85,000 students, 82 percent have cleared their hostel's dues for the upcoming semester. The university will let other students register with a late fee charge. Five people are arrested for gang-raping Class 6 girl in Maharashtra

Another rape incident has been registered in the country, in which a class 6 girl was raped by her teachers. As per the media reports, the grade 6th student was lured by the teachers into a room under the pretext of showing the video of a cultural program in the school. She was reportedly shown porn clips and then raped. She was later found abandoned near the school by her parents. The Delhi Police Crime Branch has recently busted a betting racket and arrested as many as 11 people for placing bets on the 3rd ODI match of India vs Australia. As per the media reports, officials have recovered 70 mobile phones and 7 laptops for placing bets. Police said that bets worth INR 2 crores had already been placed for the match held on Sunday. IIT-BHU in UP launches security app 'VGM' to check crime against women

In Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, in an attempt to break the growing fear among the daughters of the country, IIT-BHU students have launched a security app named 'Very Good Morning' (VGM), which will send the location to the police emergency number by pressing the mobile's power button thrice. Mrityunjay Singh, a student of IIT-BHU, stated that the person can also send the location by just shaking the phone thrice.
