India can become a major tourism destination by 2022: PM Narendra Modi

PM Narendra Modi, in his 57th episode of monthly radio address 'Mann Ki Baat' stated that it can become one of the major tourist destinations by 2022 with the countrymen's support. PM Modi said, "September 27 was celebrated as World Tourism Day and you will be happy to know that certain reputed tourism agencies of the world, which rank standards of travel and tourism have shown that India has displayed a lot of improvement in the Travel and Tourism Competitive Index". Modi further said that India stands at 34th rank on this index, whereas, five years ago it was on 65th, which in a way is a big jump. "If we tried all that harder, then by the 75th year of our independence (2022), we would have carved a place for ourselves amidst the major tourist destinations of the world", he added. Delhi landlords are refusing to rent out house to Unnao rape survivor

Recently the court had asked the counsel to look for suitable accommodation in the city, after the victim’s mother and other family members told Special judge Dharmesh Sharma that they wanted to relocate to Delhi. But as per the media reports, it was confirmed that landlords in Delhi aren't renting out their premises to the Unnao rape survivor and her family members. The counsel said that landlords are denying due to the background of the case. The court has now handed over the task of finding accommodation to Delhi Commission for Women (DCW). Husband urinated on me, threatened me at gunpoint: UP Minister's wife

In Uttar Pradesh, the wife of BJP Minister Baburam Nishad, who is the chairman of the UP Backward Class Finance & Development Corporation and enjoys the status of a minister of state, has accused him of torture and harassment. As per media reports, Nishad has also accused his wife of being an “extravagant” in his divorce application filed before a court in Hamirpur district. Nishad's wife, in her letter, said, "He used to threaten me at gunpoint...urinate on me and thrash me badly...he also used to threaten to kill my parents and brothers". She further said that she had filed a police complaint at Kaiserbagh police station a few months back but the police disposed off her complaint without making any move against Nishad. Gurugram: Man booked for repeatedly raping, blackmailing colleague

Another rape case was registered in Gurugram, where a man working at a multinational company was booked for allegedly raping his colleague and blackmailing her for around eight months after recording a video of the act. The police officials informed that, when the victim went to his residence, to collect her purse which she had forgot earlier at the office (the man later found and kept it), he offered the victim a tea which made her feel drowsy. He then allegedly raped her and recorded the act on his mobile phone. Since then he started threatening the victim of circulating the pictures and videos online if she dares to tell anyone.
