Andhra Woman walks 60 km to marry her boyfriend in neighbouring village

A woman identified as Chitikala Bhavani in Andhra Pradesh walked a distance of 60 kilometres to marry her boyfriend Sai Punnayya, who lived near her village. Bhavani and Punnaya, who have been together for four years and their parents were not happy with them. However, when everything was ready to set their plan in motion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced lockdown for 21 days amid the coronavirus outbreak. Prisons in Maharashtra put under lockdown

In the five central prisons in Mumbai, Pune and Thane districts lockdown has been issued to prevent the spread of coronavirus among inmates, as per media reports. From now onwards no new inmates would be admitted and no one would be let out including the staff. The order applicable to Arthur Road jail and Byculla jail in Mumbai, jails in Thane and Kalyan, and Yerawada jail in Pune. UK High Court delays judgement against Vijay Mallya

In a major relief to Liquor baron fugitive Vijay Mallya, the High Court in London has extended the hearings on a plea by the SBI-led consortium of Indian banks, seeking the return of loan of 1.145 billion pounds provided to tycoon by declaring him bankrupt to enable them recover money. Justice Michael Briggs of the insolvency division of the High Court granted relief to Mallya, ruling that he should be given extra time until his petitions in the Supreme Court of India and his settlement proposal before the Karnataka High Court is heard, allowing him time to repay his debts to the banks in full. 50-year-old mother travels 1,400 kms to bring back stranded son in Andhra Pradesh

50-year-old Razia Begum, teacher by profession travelled 700 km on scooty from Telangana’s Nizamabad district to Nellore, Andhra Pradesh to bring back her 17-year-old son who was stranded there due to the Covid-19 lockdown. It took her three days to cover the total distance.
