Railways to convert coaches into isolation wards

The govt is preparing a long fight against Coronavirus. As the rate of infection in India is surging, the medical services might need external support, so the Indian Railway has decided to convert coached into isolation wards for coronavirus patients. The Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Kapurthala has been asked to convert LHB coaches into isolation wards, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the makers of Train 18 (India’s first electric semi-high speed train), is attempting to manufacture ventilators. COVID-19: FM Sitharaman announces INR 1.7 lakh crore relief package for poor

In a press conference, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today, announced an INR 1.7 lakh crore Prime Minister Gareeb Kalyan Yojana to combat the economic impact of the 21-day nationwide lockdown on the poor. COVID-19 cases surge to 649, 13 deaths so far in India

Today, J&K reported it's first COVID-19 death of 65-year-old man. With that the death toll in India spiked to 13 and the number of positive cases surged to 649. Whereas, the global death toll has reached to 21,287 and the positive cases worldwide has reached 4.70 lakh. Italy reported highest number of deaths at 7,503, followed by Spain, 3,647 and China recorded 3163 deaths. Iran recorded 2,077 and France 1.331 deaths so far. Src: https://bit.ly/3bvYiPV

800 quarantined after Delhi Mohalla Clinic doctor test positive of Coronavirus

The Delhi government has put 800 people under quarantine after they came in contact with a 49-year-old COVID-19 positive doctor who worked at a Mohalla Clinic in Shahdara. The doctor had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 21, after a 38-year-old woman who had returned from Saudi Arabia visited the clinic near his house.
