Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at a Press conference stated that Central police forces should remain intact in West Bengal until Model of Code of conduct is properly followed. Hitting hard at Mamata Banerjee, Sitharaman said, “We fear after polling, TMC workers will continue violence and blood shedding”. She added that TMC workers have threatened people from casting vote.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the opposition party and said "The Supreme Court has given its verdict on Rafale deal. Comptroller and Auditor General of India has also given its report on it, I think it is on the Congress party if you are still talking about it. Before questioning the PM or the Defence Ministry, first, give answers on AgustaWestland and also on Backops Limited. They themselves have a lot to answer too."

"TMC's call for parivartan changed for fortune of only on family" - Nirmala Sitharaman

Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday hit out at the ruling Trinamool Congress claimed "The call for parivartan has brought a change in one family only. Now a member of this family is bringing gold." She further alleged "our party BJP has a youth wing. It's called the Yuva Morcha. But the TMC has no such thing. It has a syndicate morcha." She further said, "Narendra Modi government is required for a second time to stop the operations of the syndicate morcha." Describing Mamata Banerjee as anti-poor, the union minister said she did not allow the central government's Ayushman Bharat scheme which promises an annual health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family.
