Civil Aviation Security: Mandatory for all the airports to have body scanners within 2 years

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) on Thursday said body scanners should be made mandatory at all major airports within a year and at all the other airports in two years. A full-body scanner will be used to scan an individual's body for security and screening purposes without making physical contact. The technology helps in seeing an alternate wavelength image of a person's body to detect any suspicious items. The BCAS is an attached office of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. ISRO satellites will watch over goods trains to spot coal and oil theft

To prevent the theft of oil and coal from goods train, Indian Railways has installed GPS system to conduct real time monitoring using ISRO's satellite. GPS systems in more than 700 trains have been installed for this. IPS officer and RPF Director General Arun Kumar said that the new technology is expected to prevent theft of oil and coal from goods trains, as real-time monitoring would make it difficult to stop these trains at unauthorized stations or outer signals. Earlier, the system used to monitor the movement of trains only when they used to pass from a particular station. Src:https://bit.ly/2NLbWWK
