Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal today announced Operation SHIELD for coronavirus containment in 21 localities. SHIELD stands for sealing, home quarantine, isolation and tracing, essential supply, local sanitation and door-to-door checks. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said on Twitter on Thursday, "I appeal to all living in the containment areas to cooperate with the Delhi government’s Operation SHIELD. Telangana govt issues guidelines for disposal of bodies of COVID-19 patients

Telangana government has issued guidelines for hospitals for the disposal of dead bodies of Hindus/Christians who are suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19. Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development said that body would be placed in a leak-proof zip bag and not more than three family members would be allowed to see it through a glass window. Number of Coronavirus cases in Gujarat rise to 241, 50 new cases reported in Ahmedabad

As per official reports, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Gujarat jumped to 241 on Thursday with 55 new patients being found in the state. Out of the 55 new cases, 50 were reported from Ahmedabad, two from Surat and one case each from Dahod, Anand and Chhotaudepur district. The sudden spike in the number of new cases, particularly in Ahmedabad, was due to the intensive surveillance being carried out in areas declared as 'hotspots' here and other major cities of Gujarat. Gujarat govt to provide free ration to 60 lakh above poverty line families

The Gujarat government on Wednesday announced that it will provide free ration to around 60 lakh above poverty line (APL) families during the lockdown that are not covered under National Food Security Act. Each APL-1 card-holder family will get 10 kg wheat, three kg rice, one kg pulses and one kg sugar. This decision was taken during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
