Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, while addressing the 2019 Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) Conclave of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in New Delhi, urged the nation to fulfill its solemn duty to ensure the welfare of ex-Servicemen, non-Service Soldiers and the families of those who have lost their lives in defense of the nation. The Minister told the gathering that he was pleased when he left the Ministry of Home Affairs because the INR 300 Cr Corpus was in the Bharat Ke Veer Fund which is used to assist the families of Martyrs. India set to adopt sustainable development to eliminate poverty, Says President kovind
President Ram Nath kovind during a meeting said that India is set for sustainable development to fight against poverty and is on the way to become a middle-income country. President made these remarks during his meeting with the chiefs 46 central universities and institutes of higher learning in different fields including agriculture, petroleum and energy and information technology. The central agricultural universities can support our national goal of promoting sustainable agriculture, productivity and supporting our farmers with useful research, President added. First butterfly census to be conducted in Karnataka between Dec 14-15
The Forest Department of Karnataka is going to carry out a butterfly census at the Kali Tiger Reserve in Uttara Kannada district on Dec 14 and 15 and it will be the first butterfly census conducted in the state. This assessment will help in setting up butterfly parks in the Uttara Kannada district and will help in converting the Doresanipalya Forest Research Station in Bengaluru into a butterfly park. The official also added that new butterfly-friendly plant species and butterfly host plants will be planted in the area to increase the number of butterflies.
