Menstruation apps shared personal data to Facebook without user consent

Recently media reports have claimed that Menstruation apps like Maya and MIA Fem, who has more than five million users each, were reported of sharing the users’ private data with the social media giant Facebook. The notable thing is the apps didn’t take any consent from the users about it. Recently the Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari has said that the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act was created to create fear and respect for the law. In his own words, he said, "It isn't a revenue making proposal but a proposal to save lives. Govt sold data of 25 crore vehicles, licences to 142 firms for Rs 68 crore

As per the media reports, it was mentioned that the government of India has recently sold the data of 25 crore vehicles and driving licenses between 2014 and 2019 for Rs 68 crore. The buyers were including Ola Cabs, State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, United India Insurance, Reliance General Insurance, Bajaj Finance.
