Gambhir expressed his gratitude, he said, “I am honored to get the opportunity to join this platform”. He is likely to contest in Lok Sabha from New Delhi Constituency.

In a series of tweets, the former cricketing sensation said, "Disgusted to see this happen right in the heart of the Capital. This can’t slip under the carpet and I will personally ensure it doesn’t. Gautam Gambhir is optimistic about off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's inclusion in the ICC World Cup squad. Gambhir said that Ravichandran Ashwin's experience will come in handy in the high-voltage tournament, which will be held from May 30 in England and Wales. India should consider Ashwin for 2019 World Cup: Gautam Gambhir

Ex-cricketer Gautam Gambhir has said India should consider off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for 2019 World Cup irrespective of the fact that he last played an ODI in June 2017. “I’ve always believed...a quality spinner is a quality spinner irrespective of whether he is a wrist-spinner or a finger-spinner,” Gambhir added.
