Noida: A bus driver fined for driver not ‘wearing a helmet’

Recently a bizarre incident had registered in Noida, where a bus from transporter was fined for not wearing a helmet. The owner identified as Nirankar Singh was asked to pay a fine of Rs 500. Nirankar Singh over this matter said, “We have more than 80 private buses with NCR permits. A person is employed by us just to check the fines collected by our vehicles and he came across this particular fine. It was issued for one of our buses with an NCR permit. Obviously, we were shocked to find a bus getting a “no-helmet” fine.” He also added that this was not the first incident of him receiving an inappropriate fine. Src: https://bit.ly/2mkfkfE

Andhra Pradesh: 70 students fall ill after consuming hostel food

In Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam city, around 71 students at Sri Chaitanya Girls College fell ill allegedly after consuming food in the hostel mess. As per media reports, after consuming food, the students complained of vomiting and uneasiness. Later, students were hurried to the hospital for medical treatment and were diagnosed with food poisoning. The reports added that the parents staged a protest and accused the college administration of not providing proper drinking water and food to students after charging lakh of rupees for hostel and tuition fee. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati raised questions over the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's announcement on slashing tax on corporate companies. Mayawati on her Twitter handle stated, "The Central Govt is terming the reduction in corporate tax announced today as historic and claiming that it will end the country's economic slowdown and crisis. May it be so and the serious crisis that has come over people's livelihood should end. But the basic question is, why did we take such a step earlier which has to be taken back now?" This comes hours after Sitharaman announced tax cuts and fiscal reliefs saying that domestic corporate tax has been slashed to an effective 25.17%, inclusive of all surcharges and cess.
