Haryana authorities denied passport to woman & sister because they look like Nepali

In Haryana’s Chandigarh, a woman named Santosh and Heena alleged that Chandigarh authorities denied a passport because they look like Nepali and were asked to prove nationality. One of the sisters said that in the application, the passport office wrote that ' applicant seems to be Nepali'. The incident came into light after the sister wrote a letter to Minister Anij Vij and Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma and he assured them that he will look into the matter and their passports will reach them soon. India records highest number of children born on 1st January: UNICEF data

According to the data revealed by the UNICEF, around 392,078 babies were born around the world on 1st January 2020. Out of this total 67,385 were born in India that is roughly 17% of the total babies born on the first day of 2020 and it was also the highest number of babies born globally on New Year’s Day. CBI arrests DRI ADG Chander Shekhar in INR 25 lakh bribery case

Recently the CBI on 1 January has arrested the Additional Director General of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Chander Shekhar and a middleman in connection with a Rs 25 lakh bribery case. CBI arrested the middleman while he was accepting the bribe on behalf of the officer. During the questioning, the middleman told the detectives that the bribe was allegedly for the officer. Homeless people in Uttar Pradesh denied entry to shelter homes without Aadhaar card

Recently the officials from Uttar Pradesh have been accused of denying the poor and homeless people from entering into the shelter homes for the lack of identity proof. Ghaziabad’s six, while Noida’s one shelter home is only giving them permission to daily wage laborers and the homeless with ID proof, hence people without it are forced to sleep in the open area under the nail-biting cold.
