Rajasthan police uses force after 100 people gathered for religious congregation at dargah

In Sarwar town of Rajasthan's Ajmer district, around 100 people gathered for a religious congregation at a dargah. To disperse them, police have to use mild force. The people gathered to offer a chadar which is offered every year by the khadims of Ajmer dargah. Tata Trusts pledges INR 500 crore to combat the Coronavirus pandemic: Chairman Ratan Tata

On his Twitter handle today, Ratan Tata called the coronavirus outbreak an "exceptionally difficult period" and announced that Tata Trusts has committed INR 500 crore to fight COVID-19. Chairman Ratan Tata said, "I believe that urgent emergency resources need to be deployed to cope with the needs of fighting the COVID-19 crisis" and further added that the situation in India and across the world is of grave concern and needs immediate action. Lockdown not enough, need to attack coronavirus: WHO Chief

The Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said several countries have announced lockdown to combat COVID-19. He further said that asking people to stay at home and shutting down population movement is buying time and reducing pressure on heath system but it cannot alone fight the epidemic. Chandrashekar Rao declares complete lockdown in Telangana until March 31

Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, while announcing the stringent measures in the state under the 1897 Epidemic Disease Act yesterday, declared complete lockdown in the state till March 31. Rao stated that he appreciates every citizen for respecting the govt's orders and not stepping out of the home. Rao further said that he heartily thank every citizen for participating in the "Janta Curfew" and expressing solidarity by coming out of the houses and clapping at 17:00 IST.
