Journalist Priya Ramani, after recording her statement as a witness in a defamation complaint filed against her by former Union Minister MJ Akbar, stated, "I spoke the truth when I disclosed the experience of my first job interview in my Vogue Article and my tweet of October 8. It was important and necessary for women to speak up about sexual harassment at the workplace. Many of us are brought up to believe that silence is a virtue". Priya further acknowledged Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal at the Rouse Avenue Court, "I hoped that the disclosure which was a part of the MeToo movement would empower women and would help them better understanding their rights at the workplace". Ex-IAF Officer Bijan Das commits suicide, helds P Chidambaram responsible for financial crisis in the Country

Bijan Das (55), A retired Indian Air Force officer who hails from Mangaldoi town in Assam has killed himself and blamed former finance minister P Chidambaram for the financial mess in the country as well as his own household. Media reports suggested that In a four-page suicide note which is addressed to PM Narendra Modi, Das has mentioned about the policies from former finance minister P Chidambaram, which has caused the current economic slowdown. Exclusion of 1.9 mn people from NRC list caused great uncertainty & anxiety, ensure people protected from statelessness: UN Human Rights to India

While addressing the 42nd conference of Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet appealed India to ensure the protection of people from statelessness & prevent deportation, detention, who failed to get enlisted in National Register of Citizens. As many as 1.9 million people from Assam failed to make in the list and commenting on that, Bachelet said, ”it has caused great uncertainty and anxiety”. As many as. 3,30,27,661 people from Assam applied and out of them, 19,06,657 failed to be included in the list released on August 31. PM to launch 462 Eklavya schools exclusively for Tribal students: Union Minister

The Union Tribal Affair Minister Arun Munda while addressing the press conference on the completion of 100 days of Modi govt said that PM Narendra Modi would launch Eklavya residential schools by September 12 exclusively for Tribal students. According to Munda, the center allocated and approved Rs. 10,000 Cr. for opening 462 Eklavya residential schools.
