While giving an interview, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath ensured that the state government will not take any such step which will divide the society. He said that the concern is not about the amendment of Citizenship law but it is about how to get a country out of economic distress. BJP chose to amend the act and is talking about NRC to divide society. Tihar tests with sacks of sand as it prepares the execution of Nirbhaya rape case convicts

Delhi’s Tihar jail is keeping mock hanging sessions using sandbags with new ropes that they had bought last month for the execution of December 16, 2012, gang-rape and murder case. This will be the first time in the jail’s history when four death row convicts will be hanged at the same time as the central jail has earlier hanged only two persons at a time. The prison administration has also noted the weights of the four convicts and prepared the sandbags according to their weight. The convicts will be hanged on 22nd January 2020. In Punjab's Pathankot, 'Missing' posters of BJP MP Sunny Deol have been seen in several public places, including railway stations and parks. The posters read "Gumshuda ki talash MP Sunny Deol". As per media reports, angry locals of the region set up the poster as Deol neither showed up in any political meetings nor visited the constituency for long. The reports added that out of 37 days that the house functioned, including the extended session, Deol attended only nine sittings of Parliament while giving a miss to 28 sessions.
