Kochi: A flyover built for Rs 47cr mere 3 yrs ago develops cracks

It was recently confirmed that the flyover on the National High Way 66 in Palarivattom was closed for general traffic. The reason behind this is said to be major cracks, which were seen in its pillars and girders. Built-in the year 2016 with a cost of Rs 47.7 crore, is now set to be demolished. Media reported that a new bridge will be built under the supervision of 'Metro Man' E Sreedharan, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday. Gujarat: Ten drown during 'Ganesh Visarjan'

As per the media reports, it was informed that ten persons had been drowned in two separate incidents during immersion of Ganesh idols in Aravalli and Kheda districts of Gujarat. Six persons were drowned in the Vatrak river at Khadol village in Aravalli while four others met the same fate in the Mohar river near Kapadvanj in Kheda district. After the failure of Vikram lander, in the first interview of ISRO chief, K. Shivan came with an optimistic attitude and said, “We will be trying to establish a link, we will try for the next 14 days." While discussing what went wrong during the landing he explained, “Powered descent included four stages, the first three phases were executed nicely, but the last one was not executed in a nice way, and we lost the link with the lander.” In the early hours of Saturday, the landing of Vikram didn’t go as scripted by ISRO, which has lost the connection at the very last stages.
