Chandrayaan-2 landing: 40% lunar missions in last 60 years failed, finds Nasa report

The success ratio of lunar missions undertaken in the last six decades is 60 per cent, according to US space agency NASA's 'Moon Fact Sheet'. Out of 109 lunar missions during the period, 61 were successful and 48 had failed. ISRO's plan to soft land Chandrayaan-2's Vikram module on the lunar surface lost communication with ground stations during its final descent. This year Israel too launched its lunar mission 'Beresheet' in February 2018 but it crash landed in April. The first successful mission to the Moon was Luna 1 by the USSR on January 4, 1959. Madhya Pradesh govt plans to launch app for adopting stray cows

The Madhya Pradesh animal husbandry department is planning to introduce a mobile app and website for people who want to adopt stray cows. The website will also let people donate money for the welfare of these stray cows. The announcement was made to ease cash crunch and for generating funds for 1000 cow shelters. One of the officials explained that People can adopt a cow for lifetime by paying Rs 3 lakh and other people interested to take care of cows can subscribe to different fortnightly to yearly plans. The Congress-led state government is going to start 1000 cow shelters in the state in different phases to accommodate seven lakh non-milching abandoned cows. First ever Army recruitment rally for women candidates set to commence in Lucknow

Women candidates for the first time ever will be enrolling in the Indian Army recruitment rally, for the post of General Duty (GD) in Lucknow. It will commence from September 12 and conclude on September 20. Colonel Ashutosh Mehta said, "Total 100 people will be selected for several posts and we have received over 2 lakh applications. Ajit Doval On Article 370: 'Not special status but special discrimination'

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Saturday said that the Article 370 was not about any special status but was a special discrimination against the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Doval during a media interaction said, "There were many laws for modern and upcoming societies which were denied to the people of J & K. Significant laws such as Right to Education and Right to Property were denied to them. 106 such laws were protecting Article 370 before August 5. It was not a special status.
