'No burials, only cremations' BMC orders for COVID-19 deaths withdrawn

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently stated that only cremations will be allowed for bodies of coronavirus patients in Mumbai irrespective of their religion but this order was soon withdrawn. The order came in the wake of rising number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra and especially in Mumbai. As per latest reports, as many as 88 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Mumbai so far as the total tally has breached the 200-mark in the state. Src: https://bit.ly/39w366G

China to build makeshift Covid-19 hospital for Pakistan

Pakistan is gaining assistance from China, in terms of medical facility to treat coronavirus. China has already sent medical teams and supplies to Pakistan where coronavirus cases are increasing slowly. The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan reached 1,664 while the death stands at 18, as per reports. The authorities suggests that local transmission of the deadly COVID-19 is increasing. "Recently, the pandemic is also spreading in Pakistan. We totally relate to what they are experiencing," China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told media . Assam doctor dies after taking Anti-Malarial Drug as precautionary drug from Covid-19

A 44-year-old Utpaljit Barman, doctor in Assam's Guwahati died of a heart attack on Saturday, after he allegedly consumed anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, which is used for the treatment of coronavirus patients. Sources say the doctor, a senior anaesthetist, had consumed the drug of as a precaution against COVID-19. It is not confirmed as of now if the drug triggered the heart-attack, but, sources say, he had written a WhatsApp text to his colleague about feeling uneasy after taking the medicine. The Indian Council of Medical Research, has recommended the use of drug for doctors, health workers and family members who are treating or are exposed to COVID-19 patients.
