Body of missing BSF jawan recovered from Pakistan side

The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered the body of its missing jawan from the Pakistan side. The body was recovered after 72 hours of a search operation. The BSF in its statement expressed, "On Oct 1, the body of missing BSF Sub-Inspector Paritosh Mandal has been recovered from Pakistan side by Pakistan rangers. He was missing since Sept 28 from the Aik Nallah area near the International Boundary while on operational patrolling duty. He had drowned in swelling Aik Nallah while negotiating the Nallah following on some input". As per media reports, the body was traced after a joint operation that was carried out by BSF and SDRF. BSF stated that the Pak rangers and Indian villagers also came forth to assist BSF to locate the body. J&K govt orders to reopen schools & colleges from Oct 3 & Oct 9 respectively

The Jammu and Kashmir govt has announced to reopen schools up to Higher Secondary level from October 3 whereas the college will resume from October 9 in Kashmir. The Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan directed the officials that no tuition fee and school bus fee would be charged in private or government school during closed days of August and September. If any educational institutions are found taking fees, a penalty shall be charged or the registration of that educational institution will be stand canceled. Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora takes over as Vice-Chief of Air Force

Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora has taken over as Vice-Chief of the Indian Air Force and replaced Air Chief RKS Bhadauria. As per media reports, Arora was commissioned in the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot in December 1981. He has experience of over 2,600 hours accident-free operational flying which includes MiG 21, MiG 29, and other aircraft in IAF inventory, including helicopters. The reports added that Arora was appointed as Defence Attache at the Embassy of India, Bangkok, and Thailand from 2006 to 2009. He was also commended by the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief in 1997 and was awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal on 26 January 2011 by the President of India. Jammu and Kashmir: Two terrorists killed, joint operation underway

In Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district, in an ongoing joint operation by the Security Forces in the Trunkhal area, two terrorists have been killed. As per media reports, earlier on September 28, one terrorist was killed on the first day of the operation. The reports further said that the Security Forces have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition during the encounter. Earlier on September 28, the Northern Command, Indian Army on its Twitter handle, stated, "IndianArmy Op Trunkhal(Ganderbal). The second terrorist killed; Weapons and warlike stores recovered.
