Karan Johar‘s 2008 comedy flick Dostana might not have rightly depicted the LGBTQIA community. But, it was one of the first mainstream movies that addressed the LGBTQIA in a light that was slightly better than how they were treated in movies back in the 90s. Karan Johar is finally gearing up to make a sequel to the 2008 film. West Bengal: BJP Supporters Protest After Worker Was Shot For Chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ by Police

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in West Bengal raised a protest on Thursday after a party worker in the Hooghly district was allegedly shot at for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on Wednesday night. The BJP worker was chanting slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ when the police in Gurap, Hooghly shot him. The is in a stable condition. The BJP supporters have started protesting on Thursday morning demanding strict action against the police personnel. The slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is currently the center of a political turmoil across the country.

Jammu And Kashmir: No 'Bandh" During A Home Minister’s Visit in 30 Years

In Amit Shah's maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir as Union Home Minister, there was no 'Bandh' in the state. This is the first time that separatist organizations did not appeal for closure during a home minister's visit. On Thursday, he visited the family of Jammu and Kashmir Police inspector Arshad Ahmed Khan, who was killed in a militant attack in Anantnag. Shah also held a meeting for reviewing security arrangements, he laid emphasis on securing the twin routes to the Himalayan cave shrine while reviewing the progress of development projects.
