A man in Chhatisgarh excluded from society for not giving a feast to the villagers on his son’s death

A man named Santan Nirmalkar from Mungeli, Chhattisgarh lost his son in an accident in 2016. The man was financially weak and wasn’t able to give a ‘feast’ to the villagers as per the tradition which left him and his family to fall into an even worse situation. Him and his family were debarred from the society and were treated like untouchables. He and his wife had to depend on a nearby village for all their needs as they didn’t get a job because of the same reason. Do you think government should ban such practices which are a menace in the name of tradition? Src: https://bit.ly/2CKVn6L
