US rejects China’s claim to appoint Dalai Lama’s successor

US Ambassador Samuel Brownback rejected China’s claim to on deciding the successor of Dalai Lama saying that this issue should be taken up in international bodies, including the United Nations as he is a well-known spiritual leader throughout the world and deserves respect and deserves the succession process picked by his faith community considering that he has followers from across the globe. US praises India for completing 400 social infrastructure projects in Afghan

While speaking at an event Indian ambassador to the US Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that India has played an active role in the reconstruction and development of Afghanistan since 2001 and that India has completed 400 social infrastructure projects and another 150 were underway. Nancy Jackson, a US official said that the US welcomes India’s substantial investment and assistance to Afghanistan and that they will continue to support efforts to achieve an honorable and enduring outcome in the country that preserves their investment in Afghanistan’s future. US deports 145 illegal immigrants back to India

The US deported around 145 people back to India who were received on the New Delhi international airport. The US gave emergency certificates to these people which allowed them for a one-way journey from the US to India. The all of the deported persons were illegal immigrants to the US which were sent by some local agents who promised their entry into the foreign country without a visa. Earlier to this around 117 and 311 illegal immigrants were sent back to India on October 23 and October 18 by USA and Mexico respectively. Src: https://bit.ly/2pyyYGO

US court refuses to nullify work permits for H-1B visa workers' spouses

A US court has refused to strike down, an Obama-era rule temporarily that allowed spouses of H-1B visa holders to work in America which gave temporary relief to thousands of Indians living in America. A three-judge bench of the US Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Friday sent the case back to a lower court noting that it is "best to remand" to give the district court an opportunity to thoroughly assess and finally determine the merits in the first instance.
