Supreme Court verdict on Sabarimala review petition shortly

Today, the Supreme Court will decide on a bunch of pleas seeking a review of its September 2018 order allowing women of all ages to access Kerala's Sabarimala Temple. The court ruled the custom of barring women of a certain age group from entering the temple unlawfully and unconstitutionally by a majority verdict of 4:1. Ahead of the court's verdict, Kerala has been put on high alert. Police vigil has been upped in Pathanamthitta district where the temple is situated. Tamil Nadu: 16,000 runners join Coimbatore marathon to raise awareness against cancer

In Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore city, around 16,000 people took part in the marathon organised by the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF) for creating awareness about breast and lung cancer. CCF Managing Trustee Dr. T Balaji, stated, "This is our 7th edition of the marathon. Today's was our biggest marathon so far. We had 23,026 people running the half marathon. We had 16,000 runners out of which 3,000 runners were women". Balaji further said that it's an amazing journey growing in size. Centre prohibits exports of all varieties of onions with immediate effect

Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has amended export policy of onion from free to prohibited, which amounts to banning of all varieties of onion from export, with immediate effect. Director-General of Foreign Trade, Alok Vardhan Chaturvedi, issued a notice and announced, "Export policy of onion for the item description at Serial Number 51 & 52 of Chapter 7 of Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) classification of Export and Import Items is amended from free to prohibited till further orders". This comes amid rising prices of onions across the country. Earlier on September 26, Union Minister Ram Villas Paswan had asked the states to buy onions from Centre and asserted that their requirements would be fulfilled immediately. Linking PAN Card and Aadhaar Card deadline got extended to December 31

The Ministry of Finance announced that they have extended the deadline to link Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar to December 31 from September 30. The deadline was last extended on March 31. It is important to link both cards since the PAN card will become inoperative if it is not linked and other processes related to investments, tax filling and loans would be difficult.
