Delhi police receives 11 complaints regarding JNU violence

Delhi police have received 11 complaints in connection with the violence occurred on 5th January. According to officials, one complaint has been lodged by a professor while other complaints have been lodged by the students. The police have transferred it to Crime Branch, who will investigate the matter. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Devender Arya informed that the situation is under control and policemen in civil clothes will be deployed inside the campus while personnel in uniform will remain outside. ABVP stages protest in Nagpur against ‘left’ in connection with JNU violence

The members of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest in Nagpur, on Tuesday, against the incident of violence that took place in Delhi’s JNU on January 5. The protestors were seen carrying placards that read, ‘Yesterday-Jamia, Today-JNU, Tomorrow YOU’ and ‘Oppose Left violence’. Earlier, during the day, a violent clash broke out between the members of the ABVP and the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad when the NSUI members were demonstrating against the JNU violence in front of ABVP’s office in the city. Delhi court issues death warrant to 4 guilty in Nirbhaya case, to be hanged on 22nd Jan

A Delhi Court released the death warrant for the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case of 2012. The hanging of the four convicts will take place on the 22nd of January at 7 AM. A review petition was filed by one of the four convicts against the death penalty given to him by the Supreme Court in its 2017 verdict but the victim’s mother challenged the plea and the Supreme Court rejected the review.
