Govt imposes Sec 144 in JNU campus, parliament; Centre forms panel to resolve issues

The Government has decided to impose Section 144 around the JNU campus and near Parliament. JNU students have been protesting over a fee hike and other issues that are affecting poor students. To stage their protest the students are marching towards Parliament. Meanwhile, the Human Resource Development ministry has appointed a three-high power members committee to discuss and resolve the issues. Andhra Pradesh Govt to take the help of IIM-A to combat corruption in their state

Andhra Pradesh government has asked The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) to help it combat corruption in the state administration. According to media reports, the focus would be on government departments that are alleged known for corruption that include revenue, police, municipal administration and registration departments of state administration. IIM-A would help them in identifying the structural issues in mandal revenue offices, registration offices, town- planning wing in civic bodies, the police that are leading to corruption and come up with measures to tackle it too. Amarinder Singh orders probe after protest on Dalit man’s brutal killing

Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has ordered the top officials to look into the matter and probe the case of Dalit man who was forced to drink urine and was thrashed to death. The police have arrested four suspects. Amarinder Singh stated that the government was committed to the protection of the Dalits and will not tolerate any violence against them. HP rejects $ 33 billion takeover bid from Xerox, considers it undervalued

HP Inc. Has turned down a $33 billion hostile takeover bid from Xerox as it undervalued the computer and the printer maker. However, the board is open to discussing a further possibility of reaching a deal with Xerox. HP sees the benefits that can be gained through the consolidation and the value it would create for HP shareholders. Hewlett-Packard was one of the first Silicon Valley giants.
