The Sunni Waqf Board, a top Muslim body, will accept the five-acre plot allotted by the Uttar Pradesh government in Ayodhya earlier this month in line with a Supreme Court verdict on the decades-old temple-mosque dispute. It was also claimed by the Muslim body that apart from a mosque, an Indo-Islamic cultural centre, a charitable hospital and a public library will also come upon the land. Sunni Waqf Board would not file petition against Ayodhya’s verdict

The Sunni Waqf Board would not file the decision against the Supreme Court’s Ayodhya verdict. Earlier, the board claimed that they were not satisfied with the verdict. In the verdict, the SC allotted the land to Ram Lala and an alternative 5-acres land to the Muslim board. However, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board had claimed that they will file a petition. Sunni Waqf Board likely to decide on accepting 5-acre land on Nov 26

The Sunni Waqf Board has announced that the decision to accept a 5-acre land for the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya will be taken at its meeting probably on 26 November. Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board Chairman Zufar Farooqui further added that the meeting was scheduled for 23 November earlier, but was postponed and is now expected to be held on 26 November. No plan to challenge Ayodhya verdict: Sunni Central Waqf Board

After Ayodhya verdict, Sunni Central Waqf Board counsel stated that the board was not satisfied with the verdict and will seek a review of the Ayodhya verdict. The board cleared the claim and stated that they welcome the SC verdict and have no plan to challenge it. Board Chairman, Zafar Ahmad Farooqui stated that the verdict is being studied thoroughly after which they will issue a detailed statement.
