Andhra Pradesh: 11 dead after boat capsizes in Godavari river

In Andhra Pradesh's Devipatnam district, around 11 people have lost their lives when a tourist boat carrying 61 persons onboard overturned in the Godavari river. As per media reports, the state CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for families of the deceased. The official statement expressed that the CM has directed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Navy, and ONGC helicopters to carry out the rescue operation. The media reports further added that the District officials have been directed to suspend all the boating services in the region immediately and check for the licence of the boats. Chhattisgarh: 3 Naxals including wanted commander killed

In Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, three Naxals including a commander with a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head have been killed by the security forces. As per senior police officer, an INSAS rifle, live cartridges, an IED container, and Naxal materials like bows and arrows were recovered from the possession of the deceased Naxals. As per media reports, the deceased Naxals have been identified as Commander Muchaki Hidma, Muchaki Bhima, and Sodhi Deva. The officer added that after receiving information about Naxals blocking the road and keeping villagers hostage, the force quickly moved into action, after which an encounter broke out. Hyderabad cops helps traffic violators to get helmets & documents

During the time when the imposition of heavy fines over traffic violation is evoking public anger in different parts of India, Rachakonda police commissionerate in Greater Hyderabad is trying to help people to follow rules. Instead of issuing challan to violators, Hyderabad traffic police is facilitating the people to buy helmets or obtain necessary documents so that they don’t repeat it next time. Development is important: Devendra Fadnavis on Aarey forest razing

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, in an interview, stated that the govt is bound to cut trees in Mumbai's Aarey forest area as "development is important". Fadnavis stated, "We do not wish to cut even a single tree in Aarey, but the development is also important. We will plant more trees in place of those out. I will personally speak to Aditya Thackeray about this". On the contrary, Thackeray had asserted that his party will not allow the trees to be razed.
