District Magistrates in UP urge people to offer namaz from home

District magistrates (DMs) in Uttar Pradesh have requested the people to offer Friday namaz (prayer) from home amid the nationwide lockdown owing to coronavirus outbreak. The local administration conducted a meeting with the ulemas and clerics in the view of the nationwide lockdown. They have assured that people will offer namaz from home. 23-year-old who jumped from Safdarjung hospital tests Covid-19 -ve

The youth who committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor of Safdarjung Hospital, has tested negative. He returned from Sydney and landed Delhi IGI airport on March 18th, where he was screened and taken for coronavirus testing centre after he complained of slight headache. He reached the hospital around 9 pm along with four other passengers and committed suicide within the span 30-35 minutes after his sample was collected. Src: https://bit.ly/39mPgDm

Centre steps in to extend help to migrant worker stranded in other states

Centre on Thursday asked all states to provide food and shelter to thousands of migrant workers who are stranded in other stated without jobs amid a national lockdown to contain the coronavirus outbreak. The Centre walked in after the chief ministers of West Bengal and Odisha the other states to help in the time of crisis. India reports 727 Covid-19 positive cases, 20 deaths so far

As many as seven deaths from Covid-19 infections were reported from across the country on Thursday, taking the death toll from the disease to 20, the states have registered 71 new cases, including four in Delhi. The total number of coronavirus cases in India crossed the 700 mark, ending the day at 727, according to reports from states.
