India set to adopt sustainable development to eliminate poverty, Says President kovind

President Ram Nath kovind during a meeting said that India is set for sustainable development to fight against poverty and is on the way to become a middle-income country. President made these remarks during his meeting with the chiefs 46 central universities and institutes of higher learning in different fields including agriculture, petroleum and energy and information technology. The central agricultural universities can support our national goal of promoting sustainable agriculture, productivity and supporting our farmers with useful research, President added. First butterfly census to be conducted in Karnataka between Dec 14-15

The Forest Department of Karnataka is going to carry out a butterfly census at the Kali Tiger Reserve in Uttara Kannada district on Dec 14 and 15 and it will be the first butterfly census conducted in the state. This assessment will help in setting up butterfly parks in the Uttara Kannada district and will help in converting the Doresanipalya Forest Research Station in Bengaluru into a butterfly park. The official also added that new butterfly-friendly plant species and butterfly host plants will be planted in the area to increase the number of butterflies. DCW Chief Swati writes to PM Modi, demands to implement Disha Bill across the country

Chief of Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, via a letter to PM Narendra Modi today has demanded immediate implementation of the Disha Bill across the country. The Andhra Pradesh Disha Act provides for awarding death sentences to convicts in rape cases within 21 days. The Chief of DCW has been on a hunger strike for over 10 days now to protest against brutal rape incidents in the country. Andhra man commits suicide to attain ‘moksh’

A 40-year-old man’s dead body was found in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirumala temple. Initially, police suspected that it was an accident but later they found out that he had committed suicide. During the investigation, the temple advisor told police that devotees believe that if they sacrifice their life in Tirumala temple then they will attain ‘moksh’.
