Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told Lok Sabha that, despite some recent deceleration in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, India is still projected by the World Economic Outlook to grow at the fastest rate in 2019-20 among G-20 nations. Sitharaman added, the average growth rate in 2014-19 was 7.5%, which is the highest in the G-20. She included, in order to increase the country's GDP growth, the govt has taken a number of measures to address moderate levels of fixed investment in the economy, a slowdown of private consumption, and modest export performance.
