OPIC has invested USD 350 million in renewable sources in India: US State Department

The State Department of the United States, in a report titled '2019 Indo-Pacific Business Forum Showcases High-Standard U.S. Investment', stated that a development finance institution of the US govt, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has invested $350 million (INR 2,480 Cr) in six new solar and wind power generation facilities in India and a $185 million (INR 1,311 Cr) loan to the Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company to formalize rural and undertaken financial services. Central Railway to install one-touch ATVMs for fast ticketing at 42 suburbs stations

The Central Railway will be installing 92 one-touch Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) at 42 suburbs stations for fast ticketing to the commuters over the Mumbai suburbs network from October 24. Central Railway Chief Pro Shivaji Sutar stated that this one-touch ATVM is introduced keeping in mind the fast life of Mumbai commuters as it will reduce the waiting time of the passengers and avoid standing in long queues. 157 dead in Iraq's anti-govt protests due to military's excessive force: Reports

In Iraq, the death toll has risen to 157 between October 1 and 6, during an anti-govt protest to demand jobs, services and to end the corruption that erupted in Baghdad and other cities. As per the official release, Baghdad accounted for 111 deaths. According to the findings, around 70% deaths were caused by bullet wounds to the head or chest.
