‘Anti-farmer': P Chidambaram on Centre's decision to reduce contribution in Crop Insurance

In a series of tweets Senior Congress leader, P Chidambaram on Thursday slammed the BJP-led government for its decision to make crop insurance voluntary by terming it as ‘retrograde’ and said that there can be nothing more anti-farmer. He further said in a tweet that the new decisions will reduce the coverage putting millions of farmers at risk and called it another example of the BJP government’s short-sightedness and misplaced priorities. Karnataka cricket body fined with INR 50k for using plastic cups by B’luru Municipal Corp

Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has been fined with a penalty of INR 50,000 by City civic body Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for using single use plastic cups during the recent India-Australia one day international match. The state cricket association head Vinaya Mruthyunjaya claimed that the civic body gave a general notice without detailed information on plastic use and said that they have been environmentally friendly for the last many years and all gates security has made sure no plastic or flex was allowed inside the stadium. Harry and Meghan’s lawyer warns media to not 'spy' as couple starts new life in Canada

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from royal duties as they wanted a private new life. The couple’s lawyer has warned media to not trace them because a recent photo of Meghan and his son Archie was surfaced in media. Lawyers claimed that the images were taken by photographers by hiding in bushes and the couple was prepared to take legal action against it. Delhi Court orders police to file report on police action against Jamia students

The Delhi Court has directed Delhi Police to file an action taken report on the plea of Jamia Millia Islamia. The court ordered police to submit the report by March 16. A plea was filed against the police action towards Jamia students last month. On December 15, 2019, Jamia students were protesting against CAA where a violent clash took place between students and police. Several people were injured in the incident.
