Pakistani man jailed for posing as wife & faking death to claim INR 9 crore insurance

A British-Pakistani man was jailed after United Kingdom authorities caught him posing as his wife and faking his own death for INR 9 crore insurance scam. According to London Police's insurance fraud department, the man identified as Syed Bukhari claimed that he has passed away following a heart attack in Karachi. They also said that he claimed a fake death certificate also. Investigators also discovered that there was no record of Bukhari being buried in the cemetery, the medical centre where he allegedly died did not exist. Src: https://bit.ly/38hF6E8

Mumbai man duped 25 women by posing as an IAS officer on matrimonial sites

In Mumbai, a 32-year-old Aditya Mharte was arrested for allegedly duping lakhs from around 25 women. The accused used to pose himself as an IAS or IPS officer on matrimonial websites. Three suspects in JNU violence case absconding, confirms Delhi Police

Delhi Police has confirmed that three suspects in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) violence case, Komal Sharma, Rohit Shah, and Akshat Awasthi are absconding. The Police said that yesterday, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team spent the entire day retrieving CCTV footage from the server and today, the team will visit again. As per media reports, yesterday, Delhi High Court asked the police to seize mobile phones of the individuals of two WhatsApp groups allegedly used to coordinate an attack on JNU students and faculty earlier this month. Nirbhaya Case convict Mukesh Singh asked mercy from president

Recently Mukesh Singh, who is one of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case whose execution is just a week away has filed a mercy petition to President Ram Nath Kovind. Unless the appeal is accepted, he, along with three other convicts in the case, is to be hanged at 7 am on January 22. The other three convicts hadn’t applied for the same.
