Swami Nischalananda asks UN to declare India, Bhutan and Nepal as Hindu Rashtra

While speaking to the media, Shankaracharya of Gobardhan Peeth, Puri, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati appealed to the United Nation to declare India, Nepal, and Bhutan as Hindu Rashtra. He said that out of 204 countries, many have been declared as Muslim and Christian countries. For Hindus there is no specific Hindu country, so considering that the United Nations should declare India, Bhutan, and Nepal as Hindu countries. He further added that the violence protests could be avoided if adequate steps were taken for proper consolations, discussions, and awareness before the implementation of Citizenship law. Amid nationwide protests against the Citizenship Act, PM Narendra Modi has launched a Twitter campaign in support of the act. Tweeting on the Twitter account of his personal website and Narendra Modi Mobile App, the PM stated that the CAA does not take away the citizenship of any Indian national. Indian-American students protest against CAA, in front of Gandhi statue in Washington

Several Indian-American students were protesting against Citizenship Act and NRC in front of a Mahatma Gandhi outside an Indian Embassy in Washington. One of the students said that they are protesting for civil rights and religious freedom. They were chanting slogans in favor of India’s unity. Protesters requested the Indian Government to withdraw both CAA and the NRC. Apart from USA’s Washington, students of Chicago, and Canada's Toronto came in support to protest against CAA. 14 out of 16 died in UP due to bullet injuries during anti-CAA protest

Amid protest of Citizenship Act in Uttar Pradesh, senior police officers confirmed the news to an English newspaper that 14 out of 16 persons who were killed during the protests died due to bullet injuries. Protester Rashid died because of a head injury in Firozabad while an 8-year-old boy lost his life in a stampede when police were trying to disperse the protesters.
