"I said hogaya to hogaya, I actually meant that hogaya to bura hua" - Sam Pitroda denies making controversial statement on Sikh riots

Sam Pitroda said "Becuase my Hindi is not that great, I said hogaya to hogaya and from this, I actually meant that hogaya to bura hua...kisi ne dhyan nahi diya. I want to clarify that this has been blown out of proportion. Talk about Rajiv Gandhi and bringing him in the picture at this stage is just too low but BJP has been doing this."

"I would like PM Modi to focus on real issues and not divert attention" - Sam Pitroda reject's Phoolka's claims on Rajiv Gandhi's involvement

Sam Pitroda rejected the allegations made by senior advocate HS Phoolka that instructions to kill during the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 came directly from the PM Rajiv Gandhi's office and said "It's wrong and I would like PM Modi to focus on real issues and not divert attention. I want PM to realize that Rajiv Gandhi gave his life for the country. His mother Indira Gandhi gave her life for the country. Who are all these people trying to criticise them?"

"BJP is again twisting words from my interview to hide their failure" - Sam Pitroda

Sam Pitroda tweeted and said "I have noticed how BJP is again twisting three words from my interview to distort facts, divide us and hide their failures. Sad that they have nothing positive to offer. I acknowledged the pain of my Sikh brothers and sisters during difficult times in 1984 and deeply feel for the atrocities that happened. But these things are from the past that is not really relevant to this election which is all about what the Modi government do for the last five years.

"BJP has unnecessarily brought Rajiv Gandhi into picture" - Sam Pitroda

Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda on Wednesday said "PM Modi-led government has unnecessarily brought in Rajiv Gandhi into the picture. It is very upsetting for the people like me who have worked with Rajiv Gandhi." Further, Pitroda discussed the two main issues in this election, Pitroda said " One is the Idea of India. We believe that democracy, freedom, diversity has been attacked by the BJP and it has constantly lied about Rahul Gandhi's degree, court cases or citizenship. The other fact is that BJP has not delivered anything in the last five years. Remembering the past (2014) you will see the promises PM Modi made to the people of India, none of those big promises has been fulfilled at all."
