Jamia alumni association files complaint against Delhi Police

The Jamia alumni association (AAJMI) has filed a police complaint at Jamia Nagar Police Station alleging that Delhi Police personnel committed brutality on December 15, 2019, based on recent CCTV footage. Recently, video footage showing police personnel assaulting students inside Jamia Millia Islamia library on December 15, 2019, had surfaced on social media. The complaint says, cops in blatant abuse of state machinery & in colourable exercise of power, without any provocation or warning, stated firing tear gas & stun grenades at both Jamia students & alumni peacefully protesting outside the University & non-presting students. Aircel Maxis Case: Court permits Karti Chidambaram to travel abroad

A special Court of Rouse Avenue in Delhi has allowed Congress MP Karti Chidambaram to travel abroad for attending an international tennis tournament, business meetings and to meet his daughter studying abroad. While permitting Karti to go abroad, Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar asked him to share the itinerary with the investigation agencies. China has full confidence to win battle against Coronavirus: Sun Weidong

In an interview, the Chinese ambassador to India Sun Weidong stated that the Coronavirus outbreak is under low control and that China has full confidence in controlling it. Weidong further stressed the impact of the outbreak on Chinese SMEs, tourism, and others. He added that, in the short run, the downward pressure on China will increase. Coronavirus onset: Sitharaman dismisses report of shortage of medicines in hospitals

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in an interview, stated that there are no reports of a shortage of medicines or medical equipment. In addition, there have been demands from those who produce medical devices that will lift the export ban. Sitharaman further said that manufacturers of medical devices are requesting to add a few more items that can be exported. Earlier on January 31, a ban was imposed on the export of items, but some items have been included in the list of items to be exported in February, so the manufacturers of medical devices also requested an increase in that list of items.
