West Bengal: A person held by BSF for smuggling 120 cattle to Bangladesh

In West Bengal's Kolkata city, a person was caught by the South Bengal Frontier Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) for allegedly smuggling 120 cattle to Bangladesh. As per media reports, the BSP troop also seized 12.25 lakh Bangladeshi currency called taka from his possession. PRO of BSF South Bengal, Kolkata on its Twitter handle, stated, "BSF troops of South Bengal Frontier during operations against trans-border crimes, affected seizure of 12.25 Lakh Bangladeshi currency, 120 cattle and apprehended 01 cattle smuggler on 31 Aug/01 Sept 2019, while these were being smuggled to Bangladesh". Coast Guard rescues 13 crew members of flooded ship off New Mangalore Port

In Karnataka's Mangaluru city, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued 13 crew members of a ship (Tridevi Prem, a hopper dredger) from a life-boat after they abandoned their vessel following extreme flooding on-board off New Mangalore Port. As per media reports, the crew was rescued at around 2:30 IST by ICG ship (Amartya) at the sea off New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) anchorage. The reports added that a search and rescue operation for another seven personnel, who were onboard the Tridevi Prem for repair work, was undertaken by NMPT tug Ocean Esteem. Madhya Pradesh: Infant died, 5 children hospitalised after being vaccinated

In Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur town, an infant has lost his life while five other children became sick after two days of allegedly being vaccinated in Limboda Village. As per the media reports, the remaining children who were in critical condition have been immediately admitted in the hospital for further treatment. District Immunization Officer KC Verma, who visited the village to review the situation, stated, "The vaccine has been kept aside, it will be inspected. India accepts Pak's offer for consular access to Jadhav, hopes ensuring of right atmosphere for fair meeting

India's Charge d'affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia will be meeting Kulbhushan Jadhav. As per the govt sources, New Delhi hopes that Islamabad will ensure the correct atmosphere for a fair meeting in keeping with the letter and spirit of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The sources added, "India has been seeking consular access to Kulbushan Jadhav for the last three years. The matter of denial of consular access was taken to ICJ by India. The court gave a unanimous decision in favour of India. Today, after victory in the ICJ, India will be proceeding for consular access to Jadhav". Recently, Pakistan declared that it will grant consular access to the retired Indian Navy Officer, who was condemned to death by a Pakistan Military Court based on the extracted confession of spying and terrorism after a closed trial in April 2017.
