No shortage of essential drugs, medical products in Kashmir: J-K administration

The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu and Kashmir govt, on its Twitter handle, stated that in the Kashmir region, there is no shortage of essential drugs and other medical products. The Drug and Food Control Organisation (DFCO) is conducting a regular survey of retail outlets. "Medicines worth approximately Rs 50 Cr supplied to distributors in the Valley since July 20 till date", DIPR further said. The DIPR added that major drug companies have been supplying medicines regularly through their supply chains without any breaks across Kashmir. Src: https://bit.ly/2lYhH7T

India will get its first Water Metro by next year

 Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the groundbreaking ceremony of the first terminal of the Kochi Water Metro project said, "Water Metro is the first water transport system of its kind in India. The project will be implemented in a timely manner and the first phase will become a reality in March 2020”. The Water Metro is an integrated water transport project connecting 10 islands in Kochi's suburbs and there will be 35 boat terminals spread across six panchayats, six municipalities and Kochi corporation areas. Maharashtra govt looking to open resort, other facilities in Kashmir, Ladakh

Minister of Tourism in Maharashtra Cabinet, Jayakumar Rawal, stated, "After the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the Maharashtra govt had a plan to invest in Kashmir and Ladakh, and in the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) meeting held on August 28, the board decided to reserve one crore each for a resort in Srinagar and a mountaineering institute in Ladakh". Rawal added that the Maharashtra govt is planning to approach the administration for govt land for the two projects but it can likewise look for private land to open the facilities there. Gurugram: A scooter rider fined Rs 23,000 under the new amended Motor Vehicles Act

In Gurugram, a two-wheeler user (Mr. Madan) has been handed a challan of Rs 23,000 for violating multiple traffic rules, which are driving without a licence, without registration certificate, no third-party insurance, no pollution certificate, and without a helmet. However, Mr. Madan was let go with the lesser penalty than what it would have been occurred as per the new Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill 2019. As per the new bill, fines for the above-mentioned offenses would have been Rs 10,000 for no pollution certificate, Rs 5,000 for no driving licence, Rs 10,000 for not having a registration certificate, Rs 4,000 for no third-party insurance, and Rs 10,000 for driving without a helmet (Total of Rs 30,000).
