Single-use plastic to be banned at monuments: Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel

Recently the tourism Minister Prahlad Patel has announced that the single-use plastic will not be allowed within and around 100 metres of monuments. During the inauguration, Patel said that " “Ministry officials were informed on September 11 to work around banning single-use plastic around these areas. So, all of our agencies as well monuments that come under the purview of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will not use any single-use plastic.” India currently ranks 36th on the World Tourism Index. Patel also said that the tourism ministry has the potential to improve the country’s ranking. What else the ministry must work on in order to improve the country’s ranking on the World Tourism Index? Karnataka: Auto crashes into bus after driver tries to escape police checking; 4 dead

Recently at least four people have lost their precious life whereas three people have suffered severe injuries in an accident which took place at National Highway 218, near Kolhar town situated in Karnataka. According to the eyewitnesses, the auto driver allegedly diverted from its path in a bid to avoid the police checking and rammed into the KSRTC bus that was on its way to Vijayapura from Bagalkot. India wins a case against Pakistan over Hyderabad Nizam's £35 mn funds in UK

The high court of England and Wales has ruled in favour of India over the historic case which has gone through several twists and turns with India and the neighbouring country Pakistan. As per the media reports, the 7th Nizam had transferred the £1 million to the then Pakistan ambassador in London, Habib Ibrahim Rahimtoola, for safe-keeping. The amount now estimated to value at least £35 million was claimed by Pakistan that the funds were for arms shipments' payment or a gift. Src: https://bit.ly/2prVQaw

India has no extraterritorial ambitions: Army Chief Bipin Rawat

Recently the Indian Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat has presented his views regarding the Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The Army Chief, who is on a five-day visit to the Maldives, said that "Our strategic culture flows from two cardinals - we have no extraterritorial ambitions and no desire to transplant our ideology on others."
