Bengaluru policemen pose as passengers, collect INR 8 lakh from auto drivers

Recently the Traffic police officials from Bengaluru has posed as regular commuters and caught auto drivers who refused to ply on metered fares or denied rides in three out of the seven zones of the city. As per the media reports, as many as 5,200 drivers were slapped with fines by the police officials across the city. India saw 28 percent reduction in Malaria cases last year: WHO

Recently the World Health Organization (WHO) has claimed that India is achieving new heights in terms of reducing Malaria across the country. As per the media reports, the malaria cases in India have reduced by 28% in the year 2018. As per the stats from reports titled "World Malaria Report 2019", India had registered with 2.6 million fewer malaria cases in 2018, which earlier stood at 9.5 million in the year 2017. National Highways Authority of India is providing FASTags free of cost

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is providing FASTags free of cost till 1st December under the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program. This step is being taken to encourage vehicle owners to switch to electronic tolling. Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that NHAI will distribute it free of cost bearing Rs 150 security charges for buyers till December 1. FASTag is a device that uses Radio Frequency Identification technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid account linked and reduces congestion and travel time.
