Kerala homeless man waves away cops approaching him with food, ensures social distancing

A touching video of three policemen in Kerala offering food to a homeless man, while the latter tries to ensure social distancing in times of coronavirus has surfaced online. The video shows the three policemen entering a bylane where they spot a man lying in front of a shop. As one of them moves forward, the latter stops him, draws a circle with a stone and asks him to leave the food there. No community transmission of coronavirus in India yet: Govt on ICMR report

Reacting to a study by ICMR on SARI patients, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said there is no community transmission of Coronavirus in India yet. WhatsApp number to report domestic violence launched by NCW amid lockdown

The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Friday launched the WhatsApp number 7217735372 for reporting domestic violence amid coronavirus lockdown. The number has been launched only for the duration of the lockdown till NCW's normal office resumes, it said. UP govt launches scheme to disburse INR 1000 per month for daily wage workers

The Uttar Pradesh government recently stated that it is going to launch a new scheme for daily wage workers under which at least 20.37 lakh labourers will be given INR 1,000 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer. The government has ordered the Urban Development Department to prepare a database in the next 15 days and open their accounts as well. The cost to finance the scheme is expected to be around Rs 203 crore. Meanwhile, the government has also ordered the closure of metro services in the state from 6 am to 10 pm on March 22 (Sunday) in view of the ‘Janata Curfew’. Src: https://bit.ly/2UaMdKu
