Bomb explodes at Lucknow court, at least 2 lawyers injured

According to media reports, a crude bomb exploded at a court in Lucknow this afternoon. The bomb was thrown at the chamber of lawyers and is believed to have targeted a senior member of the Lucknow Bar Association. During the explosion, two lawyers were injured. Joint secretary of the Lucknow Bar Association, Sanjeev Lodhi claimed that he was the target and has blamed another lawyer Jitu Yadav for the attack. Later, several lawyers gathered outside the chamber of lawyers and Sanjeev Lodhi was seen shouting slogans to condemn the breach of security. Src: https://bit.ly/37nKODJ

SC to pronounce verdict on steps to address the problem of criminalisation of politics

Today the Supreme Court will deliver its decision on steps to be taken to address the issue of politics criminalisation. The court is expected to decide in its judgment whether it can give directives to political parties to refuse tickets to candidates with a criminal background. A Bench of Justices Rohinton Nariman and S Ravindra Bhat will pronounce the judgment in petitions of contempt which, among other items, pointed out that despite repeated directions from the top court, the Govt and the Election Commission have failed to take measures to decriminalise politics. Vijay Mallya begins extradition appeal process at UK High Court

Vijay Mallya has started the process at a High Court in the United Kingdom against an order to extradite him to India to face multiple charges relating to the failure of Kingfisher Airlines. Mallya was accompanied by his wife Pinky Mallya and his legal team led by Clare Montgomery QC to present arguments to a two-judge panel. Trump expects 5-7 million people will welcome him in Gujarat's Ahmedabad

The President of United States Donald Trump, in an interview, stated that on November 24, he is going to India and PM Narendra Modi has stated that five to seven million people are expected to welcome him in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Trump is expected to attend an event on the lines of the ' Howdy Modi ' function at Motera Stadium which Trump and Modi addressed in Houston in September last year.
