Odisha: Police conducts raids on dance bars, rescues 96 women

In Odisha's Bhubaneshwar city, a joint team of five police station led 'Operation Dance Bar' in which they raided 10 different bars and detained 96 women in Laxmi Sagar area and Cuttack Road. Later, the women were released after identity verification. The Police said that they had received complaints about the bars involving women without a valid licence. They further said that 96 women were rescued in the operation. The police added, "We will submit prosecution reports to the licensing authorities and government over the permit issue with these bars. None of the bars had licence to engage women. Many of them didn't even have police permission to use loudspeakers". https://bit.ly/2yh6Dpq

Maharashtra: Western Naval Command deployed 8 flood rescue teams for relief efforts

The Western Naval Command of Indian Navy Command of Indian Navy has sent 8 flood rescue teams for the aid in the region. This came after the Central Railways requested the Western Naval after floods caused by heavy rains in Mumbai. The Western Navy Command stated that 8 flood rescue teams from the Navy including three diving teams have been assembled with rescue material, inflatable boats, and life jackets. Uttar Pradesh: Police officer flaunting guns in video goes viral, investigation underway

In Uttar Pradesh's Basti district, a video of an inspector has circulated around the web where he is seen using gun along with other police officers in civil dresses. SP Pankaj Kumar stated that an investigation has begun in this issue and the department will further make strong action against everyone seen in the video along with the police inspector. CRPF jawan, who survived 8 bullets, rejoins duty in Srinagar

Khursheed Ahmad, a head constable in CRPF, who was riddled with eight bullets in a militant attack in 2016 has rejoined duty in Srinagar. His spinal injury was so critical that the doctor stated that the damage may leave him unable to walk. However, he recouped the injury victoriously. Ahmed is currently working for his colleagues taking care of the paperwork related to passes, transfers, as well as office work. On 25 June 2016, Ahmad and other CRPF jawans were returning after shooting practice in Lethpura when 4 militants suddenly opened fire on them. 8 CRPF jawans lost their lives and 22 were injured in this militant ambush.
