50% posts of Constable and Sub-Inspectors will be for women: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal stated that out of 9000 vacancies that are coming up for the posts of Constable and Sub-Inspectors in Railway, 50 % of the posts will be reserved for women. Goyal further said, "In the coming two years, around 99,000 posts would lie empty as 53,000 and 46,000 railway employees would retire in 2019 and 2020 respectively." He further announced that new jobs opportunities for 2.25-2.50 lakh people have been made and the process for 1.50 lakh vacancies is underway. So Railway, in a way, will be providing 4 lakh jobs." Flipkart aims to replace 40% of its delivery vans with EVs by March 2020

Walmart Inc's Indian unit Flipkart plans to replace nearly 40% of its current fleet of delivery vans with electric vehicles (EVs) by March 2020, as part of its efforts to cut down on its carbon footprint. 160 e-vans will be deployed across cities by the end of the year, making Flipkart the first e-commerce platform in India to use electric mobility on a mass scale. 1 militant killed in encounter in J-K’s Budgam

The encounter began at Kanipora after the Indian Army and state police launched an operation in the area. A militant was killed on Friday in a gun battle with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said. The identity of the militant is yet to be ascertained. “Budgam encounter update: 01 terrorist killed. Arms & ammunition recovered. Identity & affiliation being ascertained.
