1 militant killed by Security Forces in J-K’s Pulwama Ahead of Amit Shah's Visit to the State

At least one militant was killed after a gunfight with security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, ahead of Union home minister Amit Shah’s two-day visit starting today. The operation began in the morning when the Indian Army and state police launched an operation in Branpathri forests in Tral following information about the presence of a group of militants there. Intermittent firing exchanges are ongoing between the security forces and the militants hiding in the area. The militant has been identified as Sabir, a terrorist from a Zakir Musa affiliate. Man Assaulted and Made to Parade Half Naked for Rape Attempt on Minor

A 21-year-old man was allegedly assaulted, paraded half-naked with his head shaved and face blackened in a village in Prayagraj after he entered a residence in his neighborhood on Sunday and attempted to rape a minor girl. The accused and the minor belong to different communities. While the suspect was arrested on Monday, his family refused to complain about the alleged physical attack and the harassment by the villagers, the police claimed. Excreta in Mula-Mutha three times above safe limit, States A Maharashtra Pollution Board Report

The Mula-Mutha river, that provides water to the majority of Pune population, is Maharashtra’s second-most polluted river after the Mithi river as of 2018. It contains human and animal excreta three times more than the safe limit. A pioneering joint initiative between the central government and PMC aims to prevent the pollution of the Mula-Mutha River. The United States and India are natural strategic partners,” the note further stated. The document noted that President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are “firmly committed to accelerating the upward trajectory of this partnership”, and share a vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
