Andhra Woman walks 60 km to marry her boyfriend in neighbouring village

A woman identified as Chitikala Bhavani in Andhra Pradesh walked a distance of 60 kilometres to marry her boyfriend Sai Punnayya, who lived near her village. Bhavani and Punnaya, who have been together for four years and their parents were not happy with them. However, when everything was ready to set their plan in motion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced lockdown for 21 days amid the coronavirus outbreak. WhatsApp number to report domestic violence launched by NCW amid lockdown

The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Friday launched the WhatsApp number 7217735372 for reporting domestic violence amid coronavirus lockdown. The number has been launched only for the duration of the lockdown till NCW's normal office resumes, it said. Asian Development Bank to provide INR 16,700 crore assistance for India to fight COVID-19

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has assured USD 2.2 billion (over ₹16,700 crore) assistance for India to fight coronavirus. President Masatsugu Asakawa said, "ADB is committed to supporting India's emergency needs. We are now preparing USD 2.2 billion in immediate assistance to the health sector and to help alleviate the economic impact of the pandemic on the poor; informal workers; micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises; and the financial sector.” Earlier, World Bank had approved USD 1 billion in emergency funds for India to fight the outbreak.
