Madhya Pradesh: Several houses damaged, some collapsed due to heavy rainfall

In Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district, several houses were damaged and some houses collapsed due to heavy rainfall. As per media reports, people have urged for compensation from the govt following the incident. A local expressed, "I had a new motorcycle which was entirely crushed after my house collapsed. It was good that we were outside the house, else we all must have died". Another resident said, "My entire house collapsed. I faced a lot of losses as a lot of my belongings were destroyed". The Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Kshitij Singhal asserted that due compensation will be given to people whose houses have collapsed. Rajasthan: 350 students, 50 teachers trapped in school due to flood

In Rajasthan's Chittorgarh city, due to flood-like situation, around 350 students and 50 teachers have been stuck at a school (Adarsh Vidhya Mandir) for the past 24-hours. As per media reports, the roads have been submerged due to the heavy discharge of water from the Rana Pratap Dam. The principal, Om Prakash Bhambhi, stated, "The locals are providing us food and water from the past 24 hours. No help has come from the govt authorities yet. They had not informed us about the opening of the gates of the dam in advance". Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted heavy rainfall in the east Rajasthan.
