60-yr-old Yemen national died of Covid-19 in Delhi

Two deaths have been confirmed because of Coronavirus on Friday, after a Yemen national, admitted to a private hospital in the city, died of Covid-19,. The person had come to India as a potential donor of liver and was at hospital for necessary tests. As per reports, the person was around 60 years old and had several co-morbidities. As he travelled from Yemen, he was taken for tests where he collapsed in the hospital. The Covid-19 was suspected and a sample was collected. First image of Coronavirus captured by scientists in Pune

The scientists in Pune have captured images of the coronavirus causing the Covid-19 disease, using transmission electron microscope imaging. The images were published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research. The photos of Sars-Cov-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, is of a throat swab of a woman patient, whose case was first laboratory-confirmed case in India on January 30, 2020. The woman, with other three students studying medicine in Wuhan, was diagnosed with Covid-19 after returning India. Army Chief MM Narvane launches 'Operation Namaste' to contain Pandemic

The Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane on Friday launched an initiative 'Operation Namaste' to protect 1.3 million strength of Army personnel from coronavirus infection and to provide all the assistance required to the government in combating the Coronavirus pandemic. He asked all the Army personnel to be cautious and take necessary precautions against the virus and promised soldiers deployed on borders of Pakistan and China that special care will be taken of their families. Karnataka to use govt schools, hostels as COVID-19 quarantine centres

Amid the increasing spread of Coronavirus pandemic, Karnataka government has asked district administration to use Social Welfare Department residential schools and hostels as quarantine centres. Deputy CM Govind Karjol announced the move saying schools and hostels are empty in view of holidays for educational institutions. These schools and hostels are spacious and have required facilities like kitchens and bathrooms. Until now, there are at least 62 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.
